Introducing The All-New 2027 Kia EV5 Compact SUV
The Future Today
It’s hard to think of another automaker doing as much as Kia is doing to become a global leader in the development and production of electric vehicles. The all-new 2027 Kia EV5 is the latest addition to the rapidly expanding Kia EV family, and this stunning compact SUV looks like another sure-fire winner. The 2027 Kia EV5 adopts the same design language as the brand’s largest EV, but presents it in a smaller, more affordable, and more manageable package. It even offers shoppers a choice of battery sizes, making it even more affordable if you don’t need the extra range of the higher-capacity option.
Trim Levels
The 2027 Kia EV5 range opens with the Light FWD, followed by the Wind in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, then the Land in both drivetrains, the GT-Line in FWD and AWD, and the GT-Line Limited in FWD and AWD. Exterior details evolve as trims rise, beginning with LED taillights, automatic headlights, and body-colour heated mirrors with integrated turn signals. Roof rails and satin belt-line trim add practicality and style, while acoustic laminated glass and solar glass for the windshield and front doors increase refinement. Higher trims introduce 19-inch alloy wheels, LED projection headlights, a centre garnish light with dynamic welcome lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. Auto-flush door handles, power-folding mirrors, a smart power liftgate, and GT-Line design elements give upper trims a more technical, performance-inspired look.
Performance and Range
The 2027 Kia EV5 uses lithium-ion polymer battery systems in two capacities. A standard 60.4 kWh battery is a practical and affordable option, while the available 81.4 kWh battery extends the range for longer journeys. FWD models get you 215 horsepower and 218 lb.-ft. of torque, while dual-motor AWD models develop 261-308 horsepower and 284-354 lb.-ft. of torque. All versions use a 400-volt fast-charging system and include a battery-heating system to improve performance in colder conditions. Front-wheel drive comes standard, with all-wheel drive available on Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT-Line Limited trims for added traction. Shift-by-wire controls and rack-mounted motor-driven power steering contribute to smooth response and predictable handling. Drive Mode Select allows the vehicle to adapt its behaviour to different conditions. The estimated driving ranges are between 410 and 460 kilometres, depending on battery size and configuration.
Features and Technology
The cabin of the 2027 Kia EV5 concentrates on delivering space, good visibility, and digital integration. Standard equipment includes cloth seating, heated front seats, a synthetic-leather steering wheel with tilt and telescopic adjustment, and a dual-zone automatic climate control system with rear air vents and floor-heating ducts. Upper trims replace cloth with synthetic leather and add memory settings for the driver’s seat, a powered passenger seat, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. Tri-zone automatic climate control further improves passenger comfort. Technology centres on a 12.3-inch multimedia display with navigation and a 12.3-inch supervision cluster paired with a dedicated climate interface. Wireless smartphone integration, Bluetooth, and steering-wheel audio controls are standard across the lineup. Available features include a wireless phone charger, ambient mood lighting, a Harman Kardon audio system, a head-up display, digital key access, and vehicle-to-load capability for powering external devices.
