Kia PV5 — The Electric Van That Redefines Mobility
Kia is transforming the world of electric commercial vehicles with the all-new PV5, unveiled at the 2025 Kia EV Day in Spain. As the first production model in Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) strategy, the PV5 is designed for maximum flexibility, allowing quick body-style changes, advanced tech integration, and tailored solutions for both business and personal use.
Modular Design for Every Need
Built on Kia’s E-GMP.S skateboard EV platform, the PV5 is available in Passenger, Cargo, and Chassis Cab configurations, with more variants to follow — including Crew, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV), Drop Side, Box Van, and even camper conversions.
Its Flexible Body System allows body components to be swapped or adapted like building blocks, so one vehicle can serve multiple purposes over its lifetime. Whether you’re a delivery company, ride-hailing driver, or adventurer, the PV5 can be configured to fit your needs.
Interior Built for Comfort & Utility
Inside, the PV5 uses an open-box cabin design with modular storage trays, smart organization features, and plenty of customization options via Kia AddGear accessories.
- Passenger Model: Three-row seating with multiple configurations for passengers, luggage, or camping gear.
- Cargo Model: Up to 1 m³ of space with low loading height and optional L-track mounting system for flexible cargo securing.
- Chassis Cab: Flat rear frame for custom builds like refrigerated boxes or flatbeds.
Durable, eco-friendly materials such as thermoplastic olefin (TPO) flooring and Bio Polyurethane seats make it practical and sustainable.
Tech & Connectivity
The PV5 comes loaded with advanced features:
- Digital Key 2.0 for smartphone-based vehicle access
- 7-inch instrument cluster + 9-inch navigation screen
- Android Automotive OS with a business-focused app store
- Over-the-Air (OTA) updates for vehicle systems
- Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) to power tools, laptops, or camping gear
Performance & Charging
- Battery options: 5 kWh or 71.2 kWh (plus a 43.3 kWh option for Cargo)
- 120 kW front motor, 250 Nm torque
- Up to 400 km range (depending on battery and configuration)
- 30-minute DC fast charging (10–80%)
Global Launch Timeline
The Kia PV5 will go on sale in Korea and Europe in late 2025, with other markets — including Canada — following in 2026. Kia also plans to open a dedicated PBV plant and conversion center to streamline customization and support.
